IN HARM'SWAY
Considering how miraculous the skin is, it's shocking how easy it is to take it for granted and to subject it to harm. Here are the top five bad habits that stand between you having the best skin possible.
Not using sunblock: keep this little formula in your head. You plus the sun minus the sunblock equals lots and lots of wrinkles. Picking at your face: have you ever taken a good look at what's lurking underneath yourfingertips asyou zoom in on your face?
It's not pretty, and neither will your skin be when it's left scarred and infected.
Not sleeping: maybe it's the martyr in all of us that likes to brag about our amazing two hours of sleep, but do this often enough and you'll be left with the skin to show for it. Take my advice and catch a few zzzz's.
Stressing out: our busy lifestyles have a way of turning us into hyperventilating maniacs. Before you continue to blow your cool, stop and remember that this is the easiest way to lower your immunity, and in the process cause your skin to flare up. Poor nutrition: in the quest for perfect physiques, we have forgotten that starving ourselves can deplete our skin of essential nutrients. Trust me, a steady diet of rice cakes and diet soda will do nothing to enhance your complexion, and lots to ruin it.
No matter what your desired end result, it's important to treat our skin respectfully and as best as we can. Believe me when I say that there's never been a better time to achieve these goals. Some, like natural ageing, are going to happen no matter what our intentions, while a larger part of it does lie within our control. However, once you understand why your skin behaves and looks the way that it does, half the beauty battle is already won.
